About Me

Peace! My name is Alula Hunsen, and I’m a second-year Masters in City Planning Candidate at MIT; I’m also a researcher and a writer, and I’m the Editorial Manager at the Boston Ujima Project (working towards producing liberatory urban narratives!). I studied math and economics, and I write about design, culture, music, history, policy, justice; anything that irks my ire or holds my heart. I’ve also been experimenting with story-poems—and I’m looking to publish with a few other writers this year.

You can find my CV here, which has most of my previous publications and will be updated regularly (and I also have links to all my clips and articles as the second tab on this site).

If you would like to hit me via email with tips, ideas, or just to hit me, it’s alula.hunsen@gmail.com, ahunsen@mit.edu, or alula@ujimaboston.com.
