About Me

Hey y’all, it’s me! My name is Alula Hunsen, and I’m a first-year Masters in City Planning Student at MIT; I’m also a researcher and a writer, and I’m the Editorial Manager at the Boston Ujima Project. I studied math and economics, and I write about music, culture, trends, history, policy, justice, really anything and everything that appeals to me (and might appeal to you!). You can find my CV here, which has most of my previous publications and will be updated regularly (and I also have links to all my clips and articles as the second tab on this site); if you wanna hit me via email with tips, ideas, or just to hit me, it’s alula.hunsen@gmail.com, ahunsen@mit.edu, or alula@ujimaboston.com.

Why subscribe?

Subscribe to get full access to my newsletter and website, which will include updates on media and culture (from movies to news to music), policies I find interesting or want to champion, ideas about politicking, and just random things that might be cool to you, but also subscribe to support your favorite writer friend! I’ll keep most (almost all) posts free for the foreseeable future, and if you wanna pay to subscribe I will love you forever and ever <3.

Stay hip!

You won’t have to worry about missing anything; I’ll post semi-regularly—about every month or so—but not enough to bug you.
